Hala Mohamed: The sexy and smart one
Hala has been a member of the WSIA family since August of 2011. Determined to make an impact at WSIA, she impressed Chris Soriano while sitting in during his show as part of her DJ training. She was asked to be his co-host, and has been a part of a radio show that has taken off in popularity. Unlike most female DJs in radio, Hala is real. Her on air personality is pure and real and is exactly who she is as soon as the microphone goes off. After 4 and a half months of "Crazy Radio", Hala added another project to her on air duties. She debuted her own show, "On my Couch" on March 8th, 2012 in the 7-10pm Thursday Night time slot. She has gained a popular following on that show as well. Hala also voices the popular Mrs. Walluby character on "Crazy Radio" In addition to being a WSIA radio personailty and on 2 shows, Ms. Mohomed is also a very good poet. Using a very creative mind, one of her poems was featured and voiced by her in Staten Island Rapper Jay Axe's new music single. Hala has also interned for Wu Tang radio and joonebug.com. Hala can also blog with the best of them, specializing in blogging about celebrity gossip. She also has a strong way of promoting. She swears by Rhianna and at times, even rocks her look. She received the nickname "Boo Boo" after her and Chris did a on-air segment about Basketball Wives. She is of Egyptian and Moroccan descent. Hala is also a 2011 graduate of Tottenville High School. |
Chris Soriano: The devilish and witty one
Chris has been on the air at WSIA 88.9 FM since September 2010, debuting on the sports talk show, "The Round Table". After 2 months, Soriano's on air duties expanded, doing Drive Time Live every Tuesday 4-7 from November 2010 until October 2010. He would add Thursday Drive Time to his duties from January 2011 until August 2011. He also has hosted popular specialty shows on WSIA, including "The Vault" classic rock radio show, "Friday Night Dance", a popular dance show that ran through the summer of 2011 and local sports programming, including "PSAL Football Now" and the insanely popular "PSAL Baseball Now", covering high school sports. Chris then took the 9am-12pm time slot on Fridays starting September of 2011. However, after a month, Mr. Soriano was bored and in search for a co-host.
