Four Nights Gone with Chris and Hala 4/27/12
By Chris Soriano:
When I first joined WSIA, I was so anti-local music it was not even funny. I listened to about 5 seconds of a bad local band, and I was scarred. Then, around March of 2011, I was looking for a few songs to wrap up my show and I stumbled upon "A Life Worth Living". They were really the first local band from Staten Island that I listened to. Then, my fellow WSIA Colleague Ari Smith joined a band called "The Rising Sun All-Stars" I was hooked on them as well. Slowly I started playing more local bands. A Life Worth Living, Rising Sun All-Stars, Bad Mouth Betties were being played on my show. It's Not Over was another local band that came out and I started listening to a little bit. They did a song with local rapper Jay Axe that I played to death over my show. Process Of Fusion busted on the scene as well towards the Summer of 2011 and I loved the way they sounded. Since me and Hala started doing Crazy Radio, we have continued to play local music. Since we have been on the air, Rising Sun All-Stars is growing and two new locals have taken the music scene by storm. Breaking Even debuted a hot single and was played to very popular and positive feedback on our show. Another band has been Four Nights Gone, who has just given us some AMAZING tracks to play They actually appeared on our show on April 27th. I have never seen a local band get this popular since I have been doing radio. They will be performing at Warped Tour 2012 this coming Saturday. They also have a TON of events planned in the city at some pretty big venues. Rising Sun All-Stars is pretty popular as well. I saw them the other night at the Bay Cafe and they just kicked total ass. I had WHOOOOO THAAAA FU******* stuck in my head the whole night. They put on a great show. They too, are playing venues in the city. So, really Staten Island, there is no need to go mainstream and try and find a good band. You have them right in you own backyard. They may be your neighbors!
